Thunderstone Red 2024
Thunderstone Red 2024 is a vibrant and elegant South African red blend crafted from Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Produced in the Coastal Region, this expressive wine combines juicy red fruit, savoury spice and silky tannins with freshness and balance.
Product Story
The grapes were hand harvested during the cool morning hours to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Around 30% of the Syrah component was fermented with whole bunches or co-fermented with additional whole bunch fruit to build spice, complexity and structure.
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsault were fermented as whole berries to maintain softness and fruit clarity. During fermentation, the wines received up to three pump-overs daily to gently extract colour, flavour and tannins.
Some batches underwent extended skin contact after fermentation to add depth and texture before pressing and maturation in French oak barrels for up to 18 months. The final blend was assembled before bottling to create balance and elegance.
