Thunderstone Chardonnay 2025
Thunderstone Chardonnay 2025 is a fresh and elegant South African Chardonnay from Stellenbosch that balances vibrant fruit with subtle oak complexity and creamy texture. Crafted with extended lees ageing and partial barrel fermentation, this wine delivers freshness, finesse and layered character.
Product Story
The grapes were hand harvested during the cool morning hours to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Whole bunches were gently pressed before the juice was cold settled in tank for 24 hours.
Fermentation took place in both stainless steel tanks and a selection of 300-litre and 500-litre oak barrels, adding depth and complexity to the wine. Following fermentation, the wine remained on its lees for up to 12 months, creating additional texture and richness.
Just before bottling, the tank and barrel components were blended to achieve balance between freshness, fruit purity and subtle oak influence.
Tasting Notes
Thunderstone Chardonnay opens with vibrant aromas of fresh citrus and ripe apricot, followed by delicate white floral notes.
The palate is layered and textured thanks to extended lees contact, while the older oak component contributes subtle biscuit notes on the finish. The result is a fresh yet creamy Chardonnay with elegant balance and finesse.
